A spread across the kinds of work we do. These are illustrations of the kind of job rather than notes from a particular one, and they are drawings because we never publish a customer's part without asking them in writing first.

Broken part
The little clip holding the top basket snapped after ten years, and the machine was too old to buy parts for. Two photos and one ruler measurement were enough. We made the bendy part half again as thick, and it has outlasted the original.
Made to order
A film-maker needed to bolt one piece of kit to another, and nobody makes the adapter. Brass threads are set into the plastic so it takes real screws and can be taken apart again without wearing out.
Prototype
Three versions in a week for a hand-cranked display model. The first two were printed in cheap plastic to get the fit right; only the one that worked was made in nylon, which is the expensive bit.
Made to order
Somebody had a circuit board and a description, and needed a box for it that could sit outside all winter. The lid has a groove for a rubber cord so the rain stays out, and it clips onto a standard rail.
For the house
Printed as one continuous line from bottom to top, which is why there are no seams down the side. Watertight, so it takes real flowers and real water.
Figure
Described in a paragraph and two rough sketches, drawn up, then printed in resin at layers you cannot see without a magnifier. Supports removed, cured and primed grey ready for painting.
