About us
Nice Prints began as two people making replacement parts for appliances nobody stocked parts for any more. It is bigger now — prototypes, one-off pieces, small production runs — but the rule is the one we started with: measure twice, print once.
How we work
Nearly every failed print failed in the drawing, not on the machine. So before anything is switched on, somebody looks at how thick the walls are, which way up it should go, and where it is going to break.
We check sizes with you before we draw, and check the finished part with callipers afterwards. If we are not sure about a number, we ask you rather than assuming.
The same person looks after your project from the first message to the parcel. Questions come from a human being who has read what you wrote, not from a form.
You will never need to know what a retraction setting is. We ask about your part, what it does, and where it lives. If we have to use a technical word, we explain it in the same sentence.
The workshop
Not a factory. A room with machines in it, in which somebody is usually making coffee.
One more thing
Sometimes a printed part is not the answer. A part under real heat, something that has to be watertight under pressure, a load-bearing bracket in a car — occasionally the honest answer is that you want metal, or a different trade, or the manufacturer after all. We would rather say so in the first reply than take the money and have you come back disappointed. It costs us an order and it is still the right call.
Start with whatever you have. If we are not the right workshop for it, you will hear so within a working day.
